Today I use different techniques to paint the lotus, with a desire not only to depict a specific image for it, but also to bring out the spirit of the flower in my mind.
Professor Jao Tsung-i
Since the beginning of the new century, Professor Jao has been furthering his techniques of lotus painting with modulation through brush method, colouration and even composition, many of which has not been used by the predecessors...... For more than a decade, such kaleidoscopic representation in different forms has become the uniqueness of Jao's Lotus.

Professor Jao’s lotus started using the golden colour from the 1990s. In recent years, the vivid use of golden and silver colours on his lotus paintings has become boundlessly varied and attained the acme of perfection, like a colourful dragon fluttering in the sky, a miracle glamour beyond words.
